Big Bang took first place among boy bands with 49.9 percent, followed by Super Junior (45 percent), SHINee (35.5 percent), BEAST (33.8 percent) and 2PM (24.2 percent). Meanwhile, among girl groups, 2NE1 ranked first with 64.8 percent, followed by Girls' Generation (45.4 percent), Miss A (31.5 percent), f(x) (29.4 percent) and T-ara (25.9 percent).
Questioned about how K-pop has affected their awareness or perception of Korea, 72.1 percent of respondents said it led them to first learn about Korea, while 66.3 percent said they "became interested in Korean culture." Some 62.5 percent said they had "considered a long-term stay in Korea," and 41.2 percent "started learning Korean," the organization said. Those surveyed were able to pick multiple answers.
